Our design thinking app will provide scaffolding and questions through each phase of the model. This app is designed for students from upper primary to lower secondary, this would be within the ages of 10-16 years old. If further funding becomes available then we intend to have this translated into other languages. |

Discover in this video how the STEMinist Discover app was developed and why it is so exciting.
Created by a group of culturally diverse women who are passionate about engaging young women ( and young men) into the STEM area. The team, Associate Professor Rachel Sheffield and Associate Professor Rekha Koul and Eunice Sari, realised that there was an overwhelming need to help young people tackle real, challenging issues that impact their world. They knew that teachers often did not have the specific skills and confidence to faciliate design thinking or problem based learning and so they designed an app to scaffold the process and enable students to capture their learning and display it for other students in the world to explore. |
Whilst the app is in English the team appreciated that 1) teachers working across the world needed access and 2) not all parts of the world have internet access. To address these issues we have developed a series of student and teacher guides. Please feel free to download them and use them with your students.
